We hope to use our outreach programs to spread the knowledge and interest of engineering to everyone in our community. With this early start, we hope to allow students to come into high school ready to achieve further in competitions.
Build-A-Bot
Build-A-Bot is a program that we have started in Hercules as a way to make outreaches with the middle school students to spread the STEM majors at an early age. This helps the children learn the basics of robotics. The Build-A-Bot program is similar to the PiE Robotics since a club member will be the mentors to the students and will guide them on what to prioritize and what to do so that they won't be clueless. We hope to teach the students how to become independent thinkers and to improve their knowledge of engineering.
FLL Jr. Mentorship
This outreach program is designed for elementary students. FLL Jr. is a branch of FIRST Robotics and participants get to work on Lego robotics. The students in our club are mentors to the elementary students and help them build by spending at least an hour a week to teach.
Collaborations
We had collaborated with other clubs and organizations to expand our connections and skills.
Math and Science Society (MASS)
Math and Science Society (MASS)
- Robotics originated from MASS as a side project that eventually became a club
- We collaborated to reach out and spread the STEM major around our community.
- We work at the winery as student vendors every 2nd week of the month on Thursday in order to gain support and spread the existence of the club to adults.
- The Four Fools Winery allows us to fund raise by selling water bottles to the people that come to eat the food that is sold by the food trucks
